LONDON special ZONE RESULTS

15 school teams from across London came together on the 19th January 2008,
to compete in a special National Schools' zone.

Thank you to Fulham Prep School for allowing us to use such a great venue.
You can visit the school website here

Battles raged across all board, but the King's House School team emerged victorious.
They were one of the youngest teams
and thus the National Schools' unique age handicap system worked in their favour.
They played excellently and their victory was well deserved.

There was a three way tie for 2nd place between:
Fulham Prep A, Fulham Prep B and The Charterhouse Square School.

Thank you to the Newland House teacher whose help on the day was invaluable
and to Rosalind Kieran, Donny Muter and Sabrina Chevannes - our excellent chess coaches.

An English Chess Federation coaching and tournament day ran alongside the National Schools' event,

at which the Heathside Preparatory School teams swept the board,

I would like to offer congratulations to everyone to took part.

Thank you to Stuart King, the Labour Party Parliamentary candidate for Putney, Roehampton and Southfields
who gave up his time to present the prizes at the end of the day.
