More than a competition, more than a training day,
This will be a chess extravaganza!

The ECF Director of Junior Chess, Claire Summerscale
is inviting juniors of all ages and abilities to come and compete.

Everyone wins a prize!
This event will be suitable for beginners and experienced players.

 

The entire day will be a completely rounded chess experience:

Coaching prizes Devilish opening traps How to win more games
Individual age prizes Tactical combinations Analyse opening plans and ideas
Best behaviour prizes Choose your move Understanding positional strategy
Many other prizes Checkmating motifs Improve your endgame technique

 

Coaching will be provided by some of the UK's top chess coaches.

Registration: 10.00am – 10.20am.
Play will start at 10.30am.
The prize giving will be at 4.30pm.

The cost will be £20 per player.

Parents & information

Parents, friends, teachers and trainers and welcome to stay, but only control staff and players will be allowed in the Playing Hall.

A high standard of behaviour is expected and children and parents must not go into areas of the school not specifically set aside for the chess. The ECF accepts no responsibility for any damage, theft or accident to the person or property of anyone attending this event. They are unable to act in loco parentis for children. Parents/guardians are responsible for their children throughout the entire duration of this event.

The ECF may wish to use photographs of competitors, for example on englishchess.org.uk, the English Chess Federation’s website. It is important that you fully complete the entry form and delete as appropriate.

 

 

Refreshments
A limited selection of refreshments will be available throughout the day, including hot and cold drinks, crisps and confectionery. Competitors are advised to bring a packed lunch.
